Global Value Exchange API

by Global Value Exchange

Jan 30, 2017

Did you know that the Global Value Exchange now has an API?

We believe that sharing information on stakeholders, outcomes, indicators and valuations enables impact measurement to be more transparent and effective. By understanding what information is being collected by other organisations to measure social value, you can draw upon a large pool of knowledge and adopt best practices in your own activities.

To help you do this, we have developed an Application Programming Interface (API). This allows you to access the information (i.e. outcomes, indicators and valuations) on our crowd sourced database in real time. This information, including the linkages between them, is provided in a format which is machine readable (JSON).

How you use this API is up to you. It can be used to conduct research on social value, improve the services you provide to stakeholders or create altogether new ones! Several organisations are already using this information to help them deliver their products.

Commercial users must pay a licensing fee, but the cost of this is negotiable. In return for paying a licensing fee you’ll also get access to anonymised impact measurement data from projects created on myGVE.

To get started, check out the technical documentation here. If you think this API would be useful to you, please contact the GVE team with some information on what you’d be using it for. We can then provide you with an API key.
