This valuation relates to the average cost of a home visit from a Physician
This valuation comes from Alberta Health and Wellness research published in 2010. The information has been collated by the SROI Network Canada.
This figure is the lowest rate that an Alberta physician can bill the provincial insurance system of a non-Albertan resident of Canada for service provided under billing code 03.03N in the Procedure List of the Schedule of Medical Benefits (page 16). This billing code is attached to an in-home visit from a physician where the patient is the first visited by that physician on a given day. This billing code is found on page 16 of the document cited. The ability for an Alberta physician to bill another province for service provided in Alberta for a non-Albertan Canadian resident is granted by the Medical Reciprocal Agreement (all provinces except Quebec participate in this agreement).
